Description
Folotyn (pralatrexate injection) is a prescription medication used to treat relapsed or refractory peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL), a rare and aggressive type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It is a folate analog metabolic inhibitor that works by interfering with the growth of cancer cells, ultimately causing their death. Folotyn is administered intravenously, typically once a week under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Patients are usually given vitamin B12 and folic acid supplements alongside treatment to help reduce side effects such as mouth sores and low blood cell counts.
